About

Kaïtlyn Kelly is an emerging Canadian artist whose painting practice explores the landscapes, communities, and cultural memory of Ireland. Through travel, observation, and research, she creates paintings that investigate connections between Ireland and its descendant cultures, examining how heritage, place, and identity are carried across generations.

Drawing inspiration from rural and coastal landscapes, village life, and the social spaces that shape community, Kaïtlyn's work seeks to capture the atmosphere and stories embedded within the Irish landscape. Her paintings focus not only on physical places but also on the emotional and cultural connections that continue to link people to them.

As both an artist and researcher, Kaïtlyn is interested in the relationship between lived experience and inherited memory. Working from photographs gathered during her travels, personal observations, and historical research, she develops paintings that bridge contemporary Ireland with the experiences of the Irish diaspora.

Through her work, Kaïtlyn explores themes of belonging, cultural continuity, and the ways landscapes become vessels for collective memory. Her practice aims to foster reflection on the enduring connections between place, community, and identity in an increasingly global world.

She is currently developing a new body of work examining how Irish landscapes, traditions, and senses of belonging re-emerge across Canada, revealing the lasting presence of Irish culture beyond its geographic origins.
